Character Creation

Here is where we make dudes!

  1. Build a character using the normal rules
    • Your characters will start at 4th level to represent their depth of experience
    • Use Method 2: Customizing Scores from the 4e Player’s Handbook; this is also the standard method in the Character Creator application
    • The Age of War is human biased, but all the normal races are available
  2. Pick a Region and Backgrounds
    • If human, pick a region. The City State is located in the Central Plains, but is very cosmopolitan.
    • The human regions are listed on the human page
    • Humans from those regions gain special powers.
    • See the Rioja entry for examples of regional benefits
    • In addition select some backgrounds from the Players Handbook 2, also standard in Character Creator
    • You can choose one standard background benefit (+2 on one skill, add one skill to your class skills list or learn a bonus language)
  3. Alignment
    • Because the City State is an evil city, your character doesn’t have to be evil to be in prison
    • You can be evil, but I would prefer that if you are you aren’t so in a disruptive way
    • If you don’t have a particular preference, unaligned is a good choice
  4. Why are you in prison?
    • What are you accused of?
    • Are you innocent? Guilty? It’s complicated?
  5. Why were you picked for this mission?
    • What makes you useful for this sort of thing?
    • Based on your character I may do some behind the scenes stuff
  6. What do you want to do once you are free?
    • Get revenge on whoever got you in prison?
    • Settle down and live a quiet life?
  7. Image Reference
    • I’d like an image reference for your character
    • You can send me a web link to an image or simply describe what your character looks like and I’ll try and find something suitable
    • Example: Ottavio de Caserta
